How to make easy brinjal thokku

 Easy Brinjal Thokku or Vazhuthananga  thokku   

This recipe is actually mentioned in the way, which I used. . This style is not a professional way. This method is purely based on my experiments and searches on Internet. 

INGREDIENTS 

Brinjal  - 4 to 6

Sabola/big onion - 1 (medium sized) 

Tomato - 2 (medium sized)

Tamarind - a small gooseberry sized 

Red chilly - as required (min3-4)

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Coriander power - 2tsp

Garam masala powder - 1/4tsp

Salt- as required 

Gingelly oil - 3tsp


  1. Heat the pan and add Gingelly oil. Put small pieces of brinjal and red chillies and cook in low flame.
2.Allow it  to cool and grind it to a paste. Keep aside. 

3. Heat the pan and add mustard,small jeera,  fenugreen and onion to the same oil. Add some salt, Saute for a second. 

4.Add tomatoes, cook in low flame. 
Add all masala powders. Saute till raw smell goes. 

5.Add the brinjal paste. Saute it. Mix well with the masala 's. 

6.Add squeezed Tamarind juice. Allow to boil for seven to ten minutes. 

Cook till the oil separates and switch off the flame. 


Tasty curry is ready. This will go with rice, Dosa and chapathi. 

People who doesn't like brinjal will surely loved this.
